What is Thorne's Address?

Thorne Research, Inc is headquartered at 558 Omni Industrial Blvd and 620 Omni Industrial Blvd., Summerville, South Carolina 29486.

Can I use my HSA/FSA to pay for Thorne products?

Many Thorne products may be eligible for HSA/FSA use when they qualify as a medical expense under IRS guidelines. Thorne partners with TrueMed, which helps determine eligibility and allows you to use your HSA or FSA at checkout for qualifying purchases.

Products that may be eligible include all Thorne health tests and select supplements, such as Basic Prenatal and Glucosamine & Chondroitin, when approved through TrueMed’s medical eligibility process.

If your purchase qualifies, you can pay directly with your HSA/FSA card at checkout—no reimbursement forms required. Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis and depends on your individual plan.

If you choose to submit a claim manually, your order confirmation email or itemized receipt (available by logging into your Thorne account and navigating to Orders → Details) can be used for reimbursement.

Please note that HSA/FSA coverage varies by plan. If coverage is important to you, we recommend confirming eligibility with your benefits administrator prior to purchase. If you need help locating your receipt or have questions about your order, contact support@thorne.com.

How does Truemed handle refunds to HSA cards that may have expired?

Truemed is required by its payment processor and IRS rules to return funds only to the original payment method. Truemed cannot reroute the refund, issue it to a different card, or provide an alternative form of reimbursement. Once the refund is issued, it becomes the customer’s responsibility to work with their former HSA/FSA provider, who may be able to redirect or reclaim the funds depending on their policies. For this reason, customers should be advised to keep their HSA/FSA accounts open until all transactions and potential refunds have fully cleared.

I don’t live in the US. Can I still get reimbursed with Truemed?

Unfortunately, Truemed is currently only available in the United States.

I don’t have an HSA/FSA. Can I still benefit from Truemed?

Unfortunately, Truemed’s services are for individuals who have HSA or FSA accounts (or plan to fund one during open enrollment). We encourage you to ask your employer about information on your HSA or FSA!

How long does it take for me to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity?

Generally it takes 2-5 hours. In some cases, Truemed’s provider team will require additional time to issue a letter of medical necessity based on the needs associated with an individual qualification survey. If you aren’t seeing your letter in your inbox, check spam, then reach out to us at support@truemed.com for help.

When should I use my FSA/HSA dollars?

You can use your HSA/FSA dollars all year long. However, most FSA dollars expire at the end of the year and unused money may not rollover into the next year. Make sure to spend the rest of your FSA dollars before December 31st — use it, so you don’t lose it!

Are there fees associated with using Truemed's services?

There is no cost to you, as long as you are shopping with a Truemed partner merchant.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity, and how is this compliant?

The items in your Truemed Letter of Medical Necessity (“LMN”) are now qualified medical expenses in the same way a visit to the doctor’s office or pharmaceutical product is.

There are thousands of studies showing food and exercise is often the best medicine to prevent and reverse disease. Exercise qualifies as a qualified medical expense with an LMN. Food, supplements, and other health purchases qualify as medical expenses if they treat or prevent an illness, and a doctor substantiates the need. Your Truemed LMN satisfies all IRS requirements to make your wellness spend fully reimbursable.
